Through the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), I am authorized to provide telepsychology services across state boundaries. This allows me to offer telehealth services to individuals in the following states:

Self-Pay Sessions
We also offer the option to pay out of pocket if you prefer not to use insurance. Some clients choose this route for privacy, simplicity, or personal preference. You can book these services directly on this website under the services tab.

Out-of-Network Reimbursement
If we are not in-network with your insurance provider, you may still be eligible for reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits. Here’s how it works:

You can see any licensed therapist you choose, including Dr. Rislin.
After meeting your deductible, your insurance may reimburse a percentage of each session fee.
We can provide you with a superbill - a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
You are responsible for submitting the superbill and following up with your insurance company.

Tip: We recommend contacting your insurance provider before scheduling an appointment to confirm your in and out of network mental health coverage and reimbursement process.

Are your counseling sessions in-person or virtual?

Currently, we offer virtual appointments through a HIPAA-compliant video counseling platform, providing convenience and flexibility in scheduling to meet your needs. You can access services using your cell phone, tablet, or computer.

Requirements
Your device must have a camera.
You should connect to a high-speed internet connection.

Please note that psychologists are permitted by their state board to offer counseling only in the state they are licensed or in a PSYPACT affiliated state. We can schedule telehealth sessions if you reside in Delaware or a PSYPACT-affiliated state.

What is the Investment?

We provide individual counseling exclusively via telehealth, with both insurance-covered and self-pay options available. Our work together is client-centered, with the number and frequency of sessions tailored to meet your unique needs and personal goals. Sliding scale and adjusted rates may be available for undergraduate and graduate students.

Fees:
Initial intake session: $200
Individual counseling sessions: $185 per session
Please note we accept insurance and are credentialed with several insurance plans.

Payment Options:
We accept all major credit and debit cards.
You may use pre-tax Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.

Payment is due at the time of each session, and for your convenience, your card will be kept on file.

What is the 2022 Federal No Surprises Act?

Accepted Answer

The 2022 Federal No Surprises Act aims to help clients understand health care costs in advance of care and to minimize unforeseen, or surprise, medical bills. Based on this law, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Health care providers are required to give clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
